Pannone Engineering Services, LLC was founded in February of 1991. PES specializes in the design, testing and installation of on-site water and waste water systems. We also have expertise in civil site design and building design. PES perform’s engineering designs, analysis and evaluations of essential infrastructure throughout the state of Alaska.

PES recognizes that to successfully complete projects in rural Alaska today, we need a complete team with a broad range of talents.  Our team provides services including planning, engineering design, RFP development, construction phase services, contract negotiation, and operations and maintenance training.

Steven Pannone, Principal, Senior Civil Engineer, ASCE Fellow

Overall Contract and Project Management is the responsibility of PES’s Engineering Division Manager and Managing Partner, Mr. Steven R. Pannone, P.E. Mr. Pannone is a Registered Environmental Engineer in Alaska & Registered Civil Engineer in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Florida specializing in the planning, design, and construction of large and small engineering projects, including rural and metropolitan airports; water, sewer, and storm drain systems; parking areas for commercial buildings, ports, airports, and housing developments; and above and below ground fuel storage facilities. He has sixteen years experience in the management of Corps of Engineers, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Housing and Urban Development, Municipality of Anchorage, and Federal Aviation Administration funded and managed projects. He is a lifelong Alaskan with more than 40 years of engineering and construction experience. Mr. Pannone’s background includes experience in survey, design, construction, testing, and monitoring of engineered projects. He has worked all over the state of Alaska, including extensive time in the arctic and remote regions. He takes a practical approach to design, taking into account how and who is going to be doing the construction. He has hands on experience in the construction of buildings and large earth works projects, as well as the monitoring and testing of engineering projects. Mr. Pannone is also a certified asbestos manager/planner and an ADEC/MOA certified water/wastewater designer and sanitary surveyor. Mr. Pannone is a licensed private pilot with over 1500 hours of flight time.

Joseph Lawendowski, P.E.​

Joe is a registered Professional Engineer specializing in residential structural design and water/wastewater systems. He is a longtime Alaskan who retired from the military after more than 29 years of total service and has more than 5 years of engineering and construction experience. Joe’s background includes experience in design, construction, testing, and monitoring of engineered projects. He has worked all over the state of Alaska, including extensive time in the arctic and remote regions. He takes a practical and economical approach to design, taking into account how and who is going to be doing the construction. He has hands on experience in the construction of water and wastewater systems, the construction and renovation of buildings and large earth works projects.

Dan Moran, Senior Technical Designer

Dan is a Civil Engineering Designer specializing in commercial site design, hydrology, and water/wastewater systems. He is a longtime Alaskan who left the military after 4 years experience in Civil Engineering overseeing heavy construction, surveying, and performing contract management. Dans background includes experience in design, construction, testing, monitoring of engineered projects, and contract management. He has worked all over the state of Alaska and the world, including extensive time in the arctic and remote regions. He has hands on experience in the construction of projects ranging from military runway construction, ports, and highways, to commercial site design, to individual residential water and wastewater systems.
